Stoner Win and Take Lead The World Point - Silverstone GP

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Casey Stoner performance was fantastic during this weekend at Silverstone Circuit, by winning the British Grand Prix full of drama, on Sunday (12/6/11). Repsol Honda rider is no match since taking control of this wet race on the fourth lap, and finish with a comfortable entry because there was no resistance from its rivals.

This is a victory in a row when Stoner in MotoGP, 2011, and the fourth of six series that have been acted. As a result, 2007 world champion has now topped the standings with a total of 116 points, shift the Yamaha rider, Jorge Lorenzo, who did not get points for failing to finish due to an accident.

Despite this victory with much advantage over his rivals, Stoner struggles to be planted on top of the podium is not easy. At the beginning of the race course he underwent a bad start which makes the leading position that he has gotten over stolen Jorge Lorenzo took pole directly.

Stoner uphill battle did not stop there. Displaced to a position two and got down to number three, Stoner and then to vision problems. It is associated splashes of water from the motor in front of him considering the very wet track conditions.

"At first we did not start with a good run. But the bike feels good, and I waited so tires have the required temperature," said Stoner after the race.

"On the first lap of water against the glass front, so in the first five to six laps I could not really see clearly. I can not see the puddle of water. But at last the water can be lost and I can record the desired time, and open distance , "continued the rider from Australia was at the BBC.

Stoner claims overall happy with the results of the British MotoGP. The victory brought him sliding Lorenzo at the top of the standings with 18 points advantage.

"We are undergoing a great race. We're very excited. His condition is very serious. Anything can happen," he finished.

Bad luck also struck the Honda Gresini rider, Marco Simoncelli, who is very competitive for this weekend. When a fight with teammate Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso, in getting the position of the two, "Super Sic" accident in Curve 1 and failed to finish the race, so he should fail again realizing the commitments on the podium - although the chance is in sight.

Behind the Repsol Honda duo, Yamaha Tech 3 rider there, Colin Edwards, who managed to climb the podium number three. Edwards, who last week missed the Catalunya GP due to a broken collarbone injury due to fall during free practice, taking advantage of the accident which happened some rider in front of him (Lorenzo, Simoncelli and Ben Spies), making him the first time a rider from a satellite team be on the podium this season.

Favorite rider slip out

When the red light goes out, Lorenzo immediately leap to the front, while Stoner, who started from pole position, slipped to third position since overtaken by the Repsol Honda team-mate, Andrea Dovizioso. Simoncelli, who start from the order of two, also slipped to fourth position.

Not even a single lap, Dovi maneuvering to pass Lorenzo. The battle in front of the sector on this wet race getting tighter, because Simoncelli was slowly pushed to the front, shifting Lorenzo, for the trailing Stoner.

But on the third lap, Simoncelli almost had an accident. When will swing to the right, "Super Sic" slip so that he is a little out of control. Luckily, the spiky Italian is still capable of driving a Honda Gresini horse, so he survived the accident and could continue the race. But its position is shifted down one strip as by Lorenzo.

One lap later, Stoner, who dominated the three practice sessions plus qualifying, could take control of the race and began to show toughness as the favorites to win the world. After passing Dovi, the Australian rider was immediately skyrocketed to leave Dovi, Lorenzo and Simoncelli, who fought for tight fight two positions. While in the next row, Ben Spies and Ducati rider Colin Edwards beat Nicky Hayden.

Valentino Rossi, who experienced difficulties since Friday, could slightly improve his position. "The Doctor", the start of the sequence 13, can be passed by two riders in front of him so that climbed to 11th when going into the fifth lap.

Entering the seventh lap, Stoner was alone in front because he was 2.94 seconds ahead of Dovi. Tough competition actually occurs between Dovi, Lorenzo and Simoncelli, which coexist and mutually threatening. But only one lap later, the track is slippery from the rain started to take casualties. Spies finished first driver who slipped, followed by Hector Barbera and Lorenzo. Yamaha duo could not continue the race, while Barbera was still able to return to the track. Thus, Yamaha duo must forget hope to achieve results at the British GP.

Of course be a result of a very ironic with what Yamaha achieved last season. At that time, Lorenzo started from pole position and managed to become a winner at Silverstone circuit.

Where is Valentino Rossi? The Doctor is in seventh position, lagging far enough away from the race leader.

Lorenzo removal, making the competition only occurs between Dovi and Simoncelli in getting the second position. But apparently bad luck can not stay away from Simoncelli, because he also had an accident on lap 10. When will enter the Curve 1, Simoncelli was able to control the bike on the slippery track, so he slid on the pavement and dragged through gravel and could not continue the race.

This makes the race becomes not fun, because Stoner was already 5.7 seconds ahead very comfortable in front, as well as Dovi, who did not get a fight from two opponents who had an accident again. These conditions give advantage to Edwards, who missed the Catalunya GP last week due to a broken collarbone injury recovery. Tech 3 Yamaha rider is automatically occupy the top three, followed by Hayden, Alvaro Bautista, Rossi, Karel Abraham, Toni Elias, Loris Capirossi and Hiroshi Aoyama, who was in the top 10.

When the race seven laps left again, Stoner further away leaving his opponents. Former Ducati rider was already 9.5 seconds ahead of Dovi, who became his teammate while closest rival in the wet race. Only bad luck could destroy the melt to embrace the third victory in a row in this 2011 season, let alone he was also superior to 27.9 seconds over Edwards, who is ranked third.

Over the remaining laps, no stressful maneuvers. The long distance between the rider, making the races take place monotonous, and Stoner steadily into the finish without interference from anyone, to record a third successive victory in the 2011 season.

Furthermore, the rider will prepare them for the seventh series in Assen, the Netherlands, on June 25. Expected teammate Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, was able to perform again after missing the Catalunya and Silverstone, as it is in the process of post-operative recovery broken collarbone injury suffered right at the French GP, 15 May.
