Lorenzo hopes to put pressure for Casey Stoner in Assen.

Last MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo wants to give a special gift for his team, Yamaha. This tuning fork bearing the team will celebrate 50 years of participation in the event of the MotoGP Grand Prix in the Netherlands, Saturday, June 25, 2011.

Circuit race at Assen this weekend, will be very special for Yamaha. Because the Japanese manufacturer will be celebrating 50 years of participation in the event the Grand Prix.

To celebrate, Yamaha held a number of events throughout the weekend at Assen this. Yamaha will also display the livery or the newness of the motor M1 is used duo rider, Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies.

Lorenzo mastered the course of the race at Assen last season. Although this season the Spanish rider had difficulty keeping pace with Honda, Lorenzo ready to give a special gift for Yamaha at Assen.

"Assen is my favorite track, because I've won all the categories in there, as well as last season. This year was very special as we celebrate 50 years of participation in the Grand Prix," Lorenzo said as quoted by the official MotoGP website.

Lorenzo's accident at the British MotoGP, June 12, making 24 year old rider slipped from the top position by Casey Stoner (Honda). Lorenzo hopes to put pressure for Stoner in Assen.

"Now we are in second place, we came here to put pressure on league leaders. I have to perform optimally. The team is focused, and I hope I can go back at least finish on the podium," said Lorenzo.
