LCR Honda team boss Lucio Cecchinello, said negotiations with the Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso, having a lot of progress, on Saturday (01/10/2011) at Motegi, Japan.
Lucio sure can hook Dovizioso become a member of his team for the 2012 season. Dovizioso will likely lose his place in the Honda factory team for Honda to cut the budget for the MotoGP, after the tsunami.
Repsol Honda Team will maintain the Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa, but may release Dovizioso to cut back on spending. The problem for Dovizioso more complicated, because Honda decided to continue support for Marco Simoncelli in the San Carlo Honda Gresini team. Thus, there remains a lot of money to Dovizioso.
"There is a problem between Honda and Dovizioso, because Honda would prefer Simoncelli. Dovizioso contract paid by the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), which gives it a difficult choice for acceptance. Their relationship will continue if the HRC received an offer from Dovizioso and make him feel important," said Lucio.
