Lorenzo Will Miss Sepang

Injuries caused by accidents during heating at Phillip Island Circuit on Sunday (16.10.2011), forcing Jorge Lorenzo had a longer break. After missing the Australian Grand Prix, the 2010 world champion has also been ruled out in the Malaysian GP this weekend.

Lorenzo crashed in a position that is quite scary when it crash at Phillip Island. Initially suspected he was having a scary thing, but it turns out the fourth finger on his right hand broken. The Spanish rider was also already successfully underwent surgery on Sunday night, but he could not appear at the Sepang Circuit on Sunday (23/10/2011).

"Surgery to repair damage to the finger Jorge Lorenzo in Melbourne this evening a success," said a statement issued by the Yamaha. "The operation could save the nerves and muscles fourth finger, which could result in loss of function, either on the fingers and hands."

"Unfortunately, the required healing time is longer so that Jorge will not race in Sepang at the Malaysian GP. A decision to Valencia GP will be taken depending on the condition of Jorge after he returned to Barcelona."

With absent in Sepang GP, Lorenzo also almost certainly could not take part in all important practice of post-Malaysian GP, where Yamaha will test the motor 1.000cc for the 2012 season.
