Spies Will Miss Sepang

Ben Spies certainly absent in the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday (23.10.11). Yamaha team have confirmed that, on Saturday (22.10.11), so that they will only lose one rider on the 17th of this series.

Spies came to Sepang in conditions that do not fit 100 percent, following his accident in free practice at the Circuit Phillip Island, Australia, last weekend. Rider United States is experiencing concussion and tear on the soft tissue in the ribs.

Are still being injured, Spies falls again in the qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. It is a blow for the Yamaha so they are reaping the results are very bad, in which two rider a caretaker, with Spies is on the order of the 16th and substitute rider Jorge Lorenzo, Katsuyuki Nakasuga, at number 17.

Actually, Spies still had a strong desire to join the race, in order to maintain its position in fifth place standings. But team manager Massimo Meregalli not want to impose the condition of former world superbike champion so he agreed when Spies decided to resign.

"We have to consider what is best for him," said Meregalli.

The decision was taken after consultation between management and the stronghold Spies Yamaha. They took no chances with the condition of the rider. This fact also ensures that Spies will not do the test motor 1.000cc on Monday in the same circuit.

Absence makes Yamaha's Spies will only put a rider on the track in the race tomorrow. Katsuyuki will carry a very heavy task, let alone have to struggle alone.
