Repsol Honda team rider and a strong candidate for the 2011 season in MotoGP champion, Casey Stoner, said he should be aware of his team mate Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo rivals at the San Marino Grand Prix. Second Spanish rider was known to appear extraordinary at Misano Circuit.
"I know Pedrosa and Lorenzo will be very fast at Misano. However, I came up with three consecutive victories and in a strong position in this championship," said Stoner, Tuesday (30/08/2011) in San Marino.
In 2007 and 2008 appear very fast Stoner at Misano, but failed in 2009. In 2010, Stoner had to fight hard to get good results. Despite appearances up and down in Misano, Stoner still hoping he can score good results in the small country.
"Let's see what happens. I'm sure will get good results this year," said Stoner.
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa's team wants to repeat the victory he achieved in the San Marino Grand Prix last year, this weekend. At that time, Pedrosa appear extraordinary since the last practice, qualifying, and win the race.
"After positive results in Indianapolis, I came to San Marino with a positive spirit. Years ago, I reached a good result at Misano Circuit, now I want to repeat it again and win," said runner-up in Indianapolis GP on Tuesday (30/08/2011) in the City of San Marino.
Pedrosa's victory in 2010 is the Honda team's first victory at Misano circuit, after 19 years never became champion at the San Marino GP. Honda team last won at Misano is a winner when Mick Doohan in 1991.
"In Misano, we need good acceleration and braking hard. We must be stronger during qualifying and preparing the best for the race. After the success in the U.S., I hope I can move better in Misano," said Pedrosa.
