Lorenzo is the most ambitious rider looking forward to the 13th series, from a total of 19 series of 2011 MotoGP season. Defending champion Spaniard set a target to cut the gap with its rivals from Repsol Honda, Casey Stoner, who is now 44 points ahead, after winning the Indianapolis GP.

Moreover, last year he's got pretty good memories in San Marino, where the rider from Texas is doing some impressive maneuvers, so as to improve the position from 10 to 6. Moreover, Spies also won the Superbike World Championship in 2009, in this circuit.

"Of course it is quite tiring when it must again cross the Atlantic Ocean. But I have always enjoyed racing at Misano. I have good luck there in my battle during World Superbike, and enjoy tight battle last year in my debut in MotoGP at the track," explained Spies .

"We gained confidence from Indianapolis, after finishing on the podium. So, I look forward to the race at Misano, with the setting on Friday, and for the first time prepared to handle the tracks with the motor manufacturer."

Yamaha management was voicing the same thing. Team director, Massimo Meregalli, hoping that the drivers they can show captivating action and achieve good results in the event that took place at "home" itself.

"The head office team is only a few hundred kilometers, so Misano including one race at 'home', and we look forward," said Meregalli. "Tireless battle of Ben, to the podium in Indianapolis, proving that we have our bike to be competitive, and we know that Jorge is also strong at this circuit, and is still fighting for world titles. We'll soon find a good setting, and I believe we can achieve good results. "

This weekend is also a special moment for Yamaha, because the rider is also legendary team three times 500cc world champion, Wayne Rainey, back to Misano. This is for the first time Rainey into the circuit, 18 years after the accident that ended his career in motor racing arena.
