To Early Disscusion For World Title - Stoner

Monday, August 1, 2011

Casey Stoner again showing signs of resurgence after winning the U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday (24/07/2011) afternoon or Monday (7/25/2011) early morning hrs. After three consecutive series of opponents beaten, Repsol Honda rider was eventually able to rise again the number one podium at Laguna Seca circuit.

The win is the fifth to the Stoner throughout 2011. Consequently, the rider from Australia was firmly on top of the standings with 20 points advantage over its rival from Yamaha which is also the defending champion, Jorge Lorenzo.

No wonder the world champion in 2007, is the favorite to repeat the title. With the remaining eight series, Stoner suspected to defend his position to win the final event MotoGP 800 cc engine of this era, given the MotoGP next season will use a 1,000 cc engine.

However, Stoner reject these assumptions. According to him, competition is still very tight so that nothing can happen until the last series later.

"Talking about the points toward the world title at this time is difficult. Points can be quickly changed. Champion, we could be there until the end of the season. But now we do not become champions," said Stoner.

"I think, if we have a chance to win, then it will happen towards the end of the season or the last race. While I was in a position quite close to it, and we can still maintain good results, then I'll be happy."

"However, Jorge will be strong in every race, and I think Dani (Pedrosa) will also always be there, to beat us and take points from us. It will definitely be a tough fight until the end of the season."

Meanwhile, Lorenzo, who did not experience serious injury from an accident during practice at Laguna Seca last free-to feel his struggle to defend the title is still very long. Therefore, he will try to continue to put pressure on Stoner, and hopes to have recovered his physical condition when appearing on the series to 11.

"In Brno (Czech, 12-14 August), with better physical condition, maybe things could change," said Lorenzo, who in the 2011 season is only picked up two victories. Conditions that are different from last season, when the 10 series he was able to collect seven victories.

Stoner and Lorenzo are in the vanguard for the championship in 2011. They also both suffered a DNF (do not finish).

In this season, Honda looks very ambitious to become champions in the last era of 800 cc engine. The reason, they've famine MotoGP title since 2006, when Nicky Hayden (who is now defending Ducati) won. Today, Yamaha is its greatest enemy, who was incarnate in Lorenzo.
