Loris Capirossi unlikely to be fit for Aragon MotoGP

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

http://simoncellimotogp.blogspot.comFactory Suzuki rider Loris Capirossi is a major doubt for the next round of the 2010 MotoGP world championship at the new Motorland Aragon circuit in the Spain.

The veteran Italian underwent a successful 90-minute operation to repair the severe damage to his right little finger suffered in a second corner crash during the last Sunday’s Misano MotoGP race.

Capirossi severed the tendon in his little digit after a collision with the American Nicky Hayden’s factory Ducati GP10 machine.

Suzuki sources have confirmed this morning that while the operation was a success, the 37-year-old is a major doubt and unlikely to be fit for the Motorland Aragon race on ther September 19.

If Capirossi is ruled out through the injury, it is unlikely the Japanese factory will replace him on a factory GSV-R machine.

Sunday’s Misano race was the 200th premier class start for the Capirossi and he is expected to quit Suzuki at the end of the campaign to join the Pramac Ducati outfit with Aleix Espargaro.
