Team Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso, happy to beat his team mate, Dani Pedrosa, and finish in third place at Australian GP last weekend. The results are important to widen the difference in points of Pedrosa and took third place at the end of the 2011 season.
"I am disappointed that failed to beat Marco Simoncelli to win the second podium. However, I am pleased to finish ahead of Pedrosa and add the difference in points in order to maintain third position until the end of the season," said Dovizioso, Tuesday (18/10/2011) in Sydney.
Before the Australian Grand Prix starts, Dovizioso in third place and only one point of Pedrosa in fourth. Pedrosa, who collects a lot of numbers after recovering from injury ambitious to snatch third place, but Dovizioso determined to defend it.
At Phillip Island Circuit, Dovizioso finished in third and Pedrosa in fourth, so the difference in points they get from one point to four points. However, Dovizioso position is not safe because there are still two more series and there is a maximum of 50 points up for grabs.
"I will continue to strive to always be ahead of Pedrosa in two subsequent series. I want a third win at the end of the season," said Dovizioso, who next year will move to the Tech 3 team.
